SUPO, where required)Why this role matters:As a Senior IT Engineer (Linux Client Platform), you’ll help shape and evolve the Linux workstation environment that supports ICEYE’s engineers and operational teams globally. You will play a key role in maintaining a secure, automated, and scalable Linux client platform that enables mission-critical work across Earth Observation and Defence Technology operations. Your day-to-day responsibilitiesCollaborate on the architecture, implementation, and lifecycle management of ICEYE’s Linux desktop and laptop environmentMaintain and improve existing configuration management and automation workflows using Infrastructure as Code and GitOps practicesEnsure Linux endpoints remain secure, compliant, and seamlessly integrated with enterprise identity and access management systemsSupport enterprise-grade Linux client security controls including Full Disk Encryption, secure boot, certificate management, and patch management strategiesAct as a Subject Matter Expert and escalation point for complex Linux workstation, hardware driver, and endpoint application issuesWork closely with IT and security teams to optimize reproducible endpoint states and improve operational scalabilityDevelop and maintain automation and administrative tooling using Bash, Python, or similar scripting languagesMentor and support colleagues by documenting Linux platform workflows, standards, and troubleshooting practicesWhat we’re looking forMust haves:5+ years of experience managing Linux laptops and desktops in a corporate or enterprise IT environmentDeep expertise in Ubuntu and Debian-based Linux distributions, including Linux desktop internals, networking, and hardware driversProven hands-on experience with configuration management and Infrastructure as Code tools such as Puppet, Ansible, Salt, Chef, or NixStrong understanding of enterprise endpoint security, including centralized authentication, endpoint encryption, and EDR integrationsStrong scripting and automation skills using Bash, Python, or similar technologiesExperience integrating Linux endpoints with enterprise identity platforms such as Okta, Keycloak, or Active DirectoryStrong collaboration and communication skills with the ability to document workflows and support cross-functional teamsEligibility to obtain and maintain a national security clearance within the country of employmentNice to haves:Experience with Ubuntu Pro, FleetDM, or similar enterprise Linux management platformsFamiliarity with RedHat or Fedora-based Linux ecosystemsExperience working in highly automated GitOps-driven IT environmentsExposure to mixed operating system environments including Windows and macOSExperience supporting engineering or technical user populations in fast-scaling organizationsApplication ProcessTA Screen (30 mins)Interview with Hiring Manager (30 mins)Technical Interview with Team (60 mins)Interview with Stakeholder Team (30 mins)Working at ICEYEAt ICEYE, you’ll join a diverse and highly engaged team united by the ambition to make the impossible possible.
