This Privacy Policy explains how DeepTechJobs.io ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects personal data when you visit the website, browse deep-tech roles and company profiles, use consent preferences, contact us, or interact with job-board and employer-facing features. We process personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR/DSGVO), the Austrian Data Protection Act (DSG), and other applicable Austrian and EU privacy rules.
Data We Process
3.1 Server Log Files and Security Data
When you visit the website, our hosting and infrastructure providers may automatically process technical request data needed to deliver and protect the site.
IP address, date and time of access, requested URL, referrer URL, browser type and version, operating system, device information, and error or security event data.
Purpose: website delivery, abuse prevention, rate limiting, debugging, and security monitoring.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in stable, secure operation of the website.
Retention: usually short-term operational retention by the hosting provider unless longer retention is required to investigate abuse or comply with legal obligations.
3.2 Job Listings and Company Data
DeepTechJobs.io displays company profiles and job listings from public company career pages, applicant tracking systems, submitted listings, and curated/imported company datasets. This can include company names, hiring locations, public job descriptions, role requirements, compensation information where published, and links to the original employer page.
Purpose: operating a focused European deep-tech job board and directing candidates to relevant employer listings.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in publishing factual job-market information and helping candidates and employers discover each other.
We do not intentionally publish private candidate profiles or non-public personal data in job listings.
If a listed role or company profile contains inaccurate or personal information that should not be displayed, contact us and we will review it.
3.3 Contact by Email
If you contact us by email, we process the information you provide, such as your name, email address, organisation, role, and message content, to respond to your inquiry.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for pre-contractual or contractual communication, or Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR for general inquiries.
Retention: kept for as long as needed to handle the inquiry and comply with documentation or legal retention duties.
3.4 Employer, Admin, and Paid Placement Data
Where employer accounts, job submissions, paid postings, boosts, featured placements, newsletter features, or admin workflows are used, we may process contact details, company details, submitted job information, order data, billing-relevant information, and administrative activity records.
Purpose: reviewing submissions, publishing roles, managing company profiles, delivering ordered services, support, fraud prevention, and accounting.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for contracts and pre-contractual steps, Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR for legal obligations such as tax and accounting, and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR for secure administration.
Payment details, where payment processing is enabled, are handled by the relevant payment processor. We do not need to store full card details ourselves.
3.5 Alerts, Newsletter, and Subscriber Data
If you sign up for job alerts, newsletter updates, or similar email features, we process the email address and preferences needed to deliver that service. If a double opt-in or confirmation flow is used, we may also store consent timestamps, IP address, and user agent for proof of consent.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR where the service is based on consent, or Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where the email feature is part of a requested service.
You can withdraw consent or unsubscribe at any time by using the unsubscribe option in the email where available or by contacting us.
Retention: subscriber data is kept while you remain subscribed; consent records may be retained for up to 3 years after unsubscribe to document compliance.
