Your day-to-day responsibilitiesFinance Management & Business PartneringLead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes for the Japan officeProvide strategic financial insights to support business growth and operational decision-makingMonitor financial performance, analyze variances, and recommend corrective actionsPartner with local leadership and global teams to align financial strategies with company objectivesManage cash flow, working capital, and liquidity planningAccounting & Compliance OversightOversee all accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and fixed assetsEnsure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reportingMaintain compliance with Japanese GAAP, tax regulations, and statutory requirementsCoordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory authoritiesEnsure proper internal controls and adherence to global finance policiesRegulatory & Tax ManagementManage corporate tax filings, consumption tax, and other statutory obligationsStay up to date with changes in Japanese financial regulations and ensure complianceSupport transfer pricing and inter-company transactions in collaboration with global teamsProcess Improvement & SystemsDrive continuous improvement of financial processes, controls, and reporting systemsSupport implementation and optimization of ERP and financial toolsEstablish scalable processes to support business expansion in JapanTeam & Stakeholder ManagementServe as the key point of contact for all finance-related matters in JapanCollaborate cross-functionally with operations, sales, and legal teams(If applicable) Manage and mentor local accounting staff or external service providersWhat we’re looking forMust haves:Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (CPA, Nissho Boki, or equivalent preferred)7–10+ years of progressive experience in finance and accounting rolesStrong knowledge of Japanese GAAP, tax regulations, and statutory reporting requirementsExperience in a multinational company and working with global finance teamsProven experience in financial planning & analysis (FP&A) and business partneringHands-on experience managing full-cycle accounting operationsExperience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle)Nice to haves:Strong financial acumen with the ability to translate data into strategic insightsHigh attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and complianceExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong communication and stakeholder management abilitiesAbility to work independently in a fast-paced, international environmentFluent in Japanese and business-level EnglishApplication ProcessTalent Acquisition interviewHiring Manager interview Task phaseFinal interview Working at ICEYEAt ICEYE, you’ll join a diverse and highly engaged team united by the ambition to make the impossible possible.
